Early Christmas @ Grandma Wendy's

Noah was delighted to find we were celebrating Christmas a week early with Grandma Wendy. When he woke up and saw all of the presents under the tree we had to distract him with the singing/dancing snowman and a Mickey Mouse train. We were all excited when Aunt Meggie arrived and the fun could begin.

Noah and Mommy visited Hollywood Studios while Daddy was at a work conference in Orlando.

He leaned into the waterfall to get a little taste and was not bothered that the front of him was completely soaked.

Visiting Mickey

Mommy and Grandma Wendy took Noah to visit Mickey Mouse on a very cold November evening. We realized that we had never taken Noah to ride the train at the Magic Kingdom so that was our first stop when we arrived. Noah was a little uncertain about the real steam engine because of its size and how loud it was. It didn't take him long to fall in love with the Disney train once we got on and rode to Toon Town to Mickey's House. For the rest of the night Noah continued to ask for the "choo choo" especially when he heard the whistle.

Mommy was excited to see Mickey's House decorated for Christmas and Mickey already had his Christmas tree up in his living room! Noah was very excited to see Mickey and always greets him with a high five and a hug. Minnie, on the other hand, is not Noah's favorite mouse. We can't figure out why, maybe its the big bow, but Noah cries when he sees her.

This Halloween we took Noah to a fall festival at a church near our home. Noah's favorite part of the festival was the hay ride. A big green tractor pulled a trailer full of hay and Noah of course thought it was a "choo choo!" After the festival we went to Grandma Penny's house and helped her hand out candy to the trick or treaters. Noah enjoyed seeing all of the kids dressed up and sharing the yummy candy.

Noah and Mommy discovered another amazing park tucked away in a quiet Jacksonville neighborhood. This park has some awesome equipment but Noah was enjoying wandering around the nature trail. Mommy saw this as a great opportunity for a photo shoot of her handsome little man. Personally, I think these pictures are worthy of a Baby Gap ad.

Noah went on his very first trip to the farm. We visited Conner's Amazing Acres for a little bit of fall fun.

The first thing Noah saw when we arrived was this sweet chocolate lab. He followed the dog around and wanted to sit with it and pet it. It was a little bit of a fight to get Noah interested in anything else.

Noah helped Mommy find her way around the corn maze. He did so well walking through the paths and he loved hiding in the corn and waiting for Mommy to find him.

As his mommy, I can see no other child in the world more handsome than Noah. I often wish that I had my camera to catch all of the silly faces and all of the sweet things that he does. One of the things that Noah does that his mommy thinks qualifies him to be the sweetest little boy ever is when he walks up to mommy while she is standing and wraps his arms around her legs and gives her a big kiss "mmmmuah"... the sound is so sweet. Breakfast at Chef Mickey's

Mommy and Daddy took Noah to Chef Mickey's Restaurant in the Contemporary Resort for a very special breakfast with some very special chefs.

Noah ate some Mickey waffles and of course tator tots.

But who can eat with all of this excitement!

Noah at the Beach

Noah has been to the beach three times already this spring.

If you go to the beach with Noah make sure you hang on to your sunglasses or Noah might take them. He thinks its a fun game to take them off of your face and put them back on, its his own version of peek-a-boo.

Noah's favorite thing to do at the beach is to play in the sand.

Noah will help you build a sand castle but his favorite part is when he gets to knock it down.

If you don't keep an eye on him, he'll find a tasty snack.
As you can see Noah thinks sand is yummy!

Now that Noah can walk he enjoys walking from the blanket to the water and back and forth and back and forth... if you hold his hand he will lead you on a tour of the entire beach.

Noah doesn't seem to be scared of the water anymore like he was last summer. He has enjoyed putting his toes in, that is as far as mommy will go because the water is still too cold for her.

Come and visit us, we'd love to take you to the beach!

Recently we've noticed that Daddy is becoming Noah's best friend. He no longer says "mama" but calls for "dad" all day. Noah knows when Daddy is on his way home, around that time every day Noah will go to the back door and look through the glass and call "dad"...if only Noah wouldn't hang up on Daddy when he is talking on the phone. Noah only wants Daddy to give him a bath, its their special time together every night. And Mommy thinks Noah is looking more and more like Daddy every day.

Disney Adventures

Noah loves going to Disney World with his Grandma Wendy! In February we took him to Hollywood Studios for the first time. Noah saw the Playhouse Disney show which had his favorite character Mickey Mouse. He also enjoyed watching the bubbles and leaves fall and all of the flashing lights during the show. Noah played on the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground. He was being very brave trying to stand all by himself, letting go to see how long he could stand without falling. Mommy thought Noah was too little to go down the big slide all by himself but he did and loved it! Noah made some new friends; Buzz Lightyear and Woody from Toy Story. Noah loves seeing the characters larger than life and never wants to say goodbye to them. He also liked seeing Lightning McQueen and Grandma spoiled him and bought him his very own car. After a nap at Grandma's we headed to the Magic Kingdom and our first stop was to see Mickey of course! We watched the fireworks and had dinner with Aunt Meg. It was a great day!

Noah had his first haircut at the Magic Kingdom barber shop. Noah made a new friend named Janet and she was so happy to cut his hair for the first time. Noah sat in the barber chair all by himself like a big boy. Janet covered Noah with Mickey Mouse stickers and he was distracted for the first few snips of his beautiful locks. Noah did get a little upset once he saw the scissors but he made it through his first haircut and Mommy was so proud. Noah was awarded with a set of Mickey ears that say "First Haircut" He looks very handsome and grown up.

Noah's First Christmas

Noah's first Christmas called for some fun family traditions.

Noah helped Mommy and Daddy decorate the Christmas tree, he was fascinated by the lights and loved to feel the branches. You can see in the picture Noah's first Christmas ornament, Mommy picked the ornament with jungle animals to match the theme from Noah's room. We read Noah the Christmas story and took him to see a live Nativity and the Christmas lights in Riverside. We tried to start teaching Noah that it is better to give than to receive by giving anonymous gifts to a family in need.

On Christmas Eve Noah enjoyed a lunchtime Christmas feast with his family; Grandma Penny, Grandpa Andy, Grandma Wendy, Uncle Chad, Aunt Meg, Uncle J, Mommy and Daddy. Noah tried the mashed potatoes and green beans but he still prefers baby food. After lunch Noah had lots of energy to play and we all got to see him pull himself up into a standing position for the first time! Later that evening, Noah went to church for the Christmas Eve service and watched Mommy portray Mary and tell everyone about her son Jesus. When we got home Noah put on his favorite Christmas PJ's and opened a few presents from Grandma Wendy. He really likes his basketball hoop with light up scoreboard.

On Christmas morning Noah opened his gifts from Mommy and Daddy. We also went over to Grandma and Grandpa's house for even more presents. Noah enjoyed tearing the wrapping paper and he really liked his gifts but we noticed that he was even more interested in one of Daddy's gifts. After all of the excitement of opening presents we found Noah crawling over to Daddy's pack of pumpkin beer from Grandma.

The next day we drove to Orlando to visit Grandma Wendy and her good friend Mickey Mouse. When we arrived at Grandma Wendy's house it was Christmas all over again! Noah really liked Grandma Wendy's Christmas tree decorated in all blue. His favorite were the lego blocks under the tree that spelled out his name. After his 4th round of opening gifts Noah was surrounded by toys, can you say spoiled? Uncle J gave him a great toy that has a steering wheel and a horn with lights and sounds that Noah can push when he learns to walk.

On our first day of Christmas vacation Noah took mommy to the park.

Mommy was so excited to see Noah go down the slide all by himself!

Noah was trying to pull himself up and climb back up so he could slide again.
This is the face that mommy loves! His scrunched nose and chubby cheaks with squinty eyes laughing at me.

Usually Noah does not like the swing but today was different. Mommy sat on the ground in front of the swing and poked Noah belly every time he came close. Noah thought this was a fun new game and mommy was thankful that this park has football field grass with fake rubber dirt :)

Noah's first Thanksgiving

Our family traveled to Banner Elk, North Carolina for Thanksgiving this year. It was a weekend of many firsts for Noah. His first trip out of the state of Florida :) and his first time seeing snow!We stayed in a cozy cabin on Beech Mountain with a beautiful view of God's creation. Grandma Penny and Grandpa Andy traveled with us, along with our friends the Helmly's. Noah really enjoyed having another little friend to play with and Andi was so sweet to share all of her toys. We ate at the Daniel Boone restaurant on Thanksgiving and Noah had his first taste of mashed potatoes. When we got back to the cabin Noah and Grandma Penny went for a hike and it started to snow. Noah really liked the snow, he kept sticking his tongue out and putting his mittens in his mouth. While Daddy and Jeff went snowboarding, Noah and Andi took their Mommy's to the pancake house for breakfast and we all enjoyed chocolate chip pancakes and french toast. We took Noah to see Grandfather Mountian and at the young age of 10 months he is already a thrill seeker. Noah loved being on top of the mountain and walking across the mile high bridge with Daddy. What a wonderful family vacation, Mommy loved every minute she spent with her sweet little boy!

Mickey's Halloween Party

Grandma Wendy and Aunt Meg took Noah to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Noah had a great time! He enjoyed watching the characters in the parade. His favorite was the hound dog from the haunted mansion. Noah got to meet grandma's favorite characters: Captain Jack Sparrow and Barbosa. Aunt Meg shared her strawberry icecream with Noah and he couldn't get enough of that cold treat. Noah went on the Haunted Mansion ride, the carousel, and Buzz Lightyear's ride, but his favorite ride was in the new stroller that Grandma Wendy bought for him that has a fun steering wheel and a horn that beeps! Noah watched the Villain show and the fireworks and was ready for bed when he got home at midnight :)

Pumpkin Patch

We took Noah for his first trip to the pumpkin patch! It was the first sign of fall here in Florida, sunny and temperatures in the 60s. After not wearing socks or shoes all through the hot summer, Noah wore his new shoes that Daddy bought him. The shoes really help him stand, he still needs to hold onto things in order to stand up but he loves to do it! He really enjoyed looking at all of the different pumpkins but his favorite thing was sitting in the hay. Noah picked a pumpkin that was just his size and we'll be carving it soon.

Noah turned 9 months old today! He is such a happy baby boy. When he first wakes up in the morning he rubs his eyes, purses his lips, and when he finally opens his eyes he gets the biggest smile because he is so happy to see you. One of his favorite things to do right now is stand up. If you stand him up and let him hold on to something he lets out the cutest little giggle because he is so excited that he can do it :)

Grandma Wendy came to visit Noah before she goes on her big boat trip. Noah enjoyed having his grandma here and showing her all of the new things he can do. We went to ToysRUs and looked for ideas for what to get Noah for his first Christmas and birthday. We went for a bike ride and a sunset walk on the river boardwalk. Grandma took us to dinner at Outback for a nice family dinner. When it was time for grandma to leave to go home Noah tried to hide her keys so she couldn't leave. He threw them under his changing table. Noah loves his grandma!

Noah's first trip to St Augustine

The three of us enjoyed Labor Day together in St. Augustine. Mommy and Daddy took Noah to see the fort for the first time. It was a beautiful day for walking around the historic city. We enjoyed the art walk and lunch at one of our favorite burger places: Cruisers. "Everything's better when we're together..."

Football, Friends, & Fun

We took a trip to visit our friends Ashley and Austin in Tallahassee. It was a great weekend filled with football, friends, and fun. Noah got his first taste of the Florida/FSU rivalry. Ashley and Austin are the biggest Florida Gators fans we know, but they live in Tallahassee because Austin goes to med school at FSU. They were so gracious to allow Daddy, the Seminoles fan, into their home wearing his garnet and gold. I think Noah might be a Gator fan; he was sporting the orange and blue and he even did the Gator chomp when Daddy wasn't looking. Maybe he was just trying to impress his girl Andi ;)

Noah is 8 Months old!

Noah turned 8 Months today. It is hard to believe he is that old but watching him grow brings us so much joy! Noah is a very happy baby. He is so smiley and giggles a lot. The leap frog table in the pictures is definately his favorite toy right now. He can push all the buttons and loves watching the lights and hearing the sounds. We put shoes on him just to see if it would help him stand up on his own. Noah loved playing with the shoe laces, just like mommy's hair.

This week Noah went to the pediatrician for a check up and we were told that he may need physical therapy because he does not have a lot of strength in holding his head, sitting up, or putting weight on his legs. Chris and I were skeptical because we think Noah is perfect ;) I know the reason he doesn't sit by himself or do any of those other things babies his age do is because as a mommy, I love to hold him every moment I can. On Wednesday, we tried let him stand up holding on to his toy table and as you can see he can do it. Mommy just has to put him down and let him grow up. We are so excited about all of the new things he can do!

Beach Vacation

We took a family vacation to Indialantic Beach and we had a GREAT time! Noah enjoyed having mommy and daddy all to himself and we really enjoyed being with him all day. Noah was a little scared of the ocean water because of the loud waves but he loved sitting in the sand. We went swimming in the pool every day and Noah tried out mommy's new float. Our condo had a patio over looking the ocean and Noah liked to sit and watch the waves. He even took a nap out there with the peaceful ocean sounds. We took Noah for his very first bike ride in his new baby bike seat. It was a great trip, we are so blessed!

Noah had a very exciting Saturday. We took him to visit family at our cousin's engagement party. Noah got to visit with Aunt Maggie and Uncle Kelly, Grandma Wendy, Aunt Meg, Uncle J, and the Scheu family. We celebrated the engagement of Wally and Brandie :) We couldn't stay for long because we were off to a wedding in St. Augustine Beach. Noah witnessed the marriage of one of daddy's groomsmen Genesis and his beautiful bride Catherine. So many old friends were able to see Noah for the first time. We are so proud of him for being so well behaved on such a busy day ;)

Summer Fun

We are really enjoying our summer with Noah. He loves going to the park and playing in the grass. Noah also loves reading books and playing with toys that light up and make lots of noise. The pool is still his favorite thing and he's getting really good at kicking and splashing the water. Noah has discovered that he can make all kinds of sounds and is testing out the range of his voice. His favorite word to say is "Dada" and as you can see in this picture, Dada is his favorite guy :)

Noah has made a lot of progress with sitting up. He can sit on the couch or in a chair by himself. He still needs support for his back or he falls over after a few seconds. Before we know it he'll be sitting up all by himself :)

Noah was a very patriotic baby on the 4th of July. He participated in our neighborhood's annual Independence Day Parade. A fire truck lead the parade and all of the kids followed on their bikes, 4 wheelers, golf carts, wagons, and strollers decorated in Red, White, and Blue. Noah really enjoyed waving his flag proudly.

Daddy and I took Noah to his very first baseball game tonight. The Florida State Seminoles took on the University of Florida Gators... its a fierce rivalry. Decked out in garnet and gold Noah is already a huge Seminole fan. He decided to fall asleep during the 3rd inning since his team was winning and was obviously the better team ;)

Noah went to the doctor today for his 2 month well visit. He is now 11 pounds 2 ounces and 23.5 inches. He is in the 25 percentile for weight, 50 percentile for length, and 80 percentile for head circumference... he has a big brain! The little guy is growing up so fast :)

During the last 2 weeks of my pregnancy I bounced on the yoga ball hoping it would cause gravity to work its magic. It didn't work but now we have figured out that it did have some effect... Noah loves to bounce! If he is tired or fussy we just sit on the ball and bounce him, he loves it and it usually puts him to sleep :)

Noah took a bath in his big boy bath tub for the first time today :) He really enjoyed laying in the warm water, so much better then the sink, the bath tub was fun! Mommy is so proud!

Noah has the cutest face I have ever seen! I love the little looks that he makes and he looks so peaceful when he is sleeping. I can't resist that button nose and those big brown eyes staring up at me. I have the cutest little boy!

Day at the Park

Saturday was the first warm day we've had in weeks and Noah and I just had to get out of the house and soak up some sunshine. Daddy took us to Memorial Park and we walked along the river. Noah loves being outside and going for walks, and we love carrying him close to our chests for more cuddly time :)

Chris and Noah share a very special daddy/son bond. As you can see, they both love to wear onesies to bed. They also enjoy dinner time when daddy feeds Noah with a bottle. I love to see my two guys spending time together :)

Noah had his first trip to church! He wore the cutest outfit that Granny Wendy bought him from baby GAP. He slept in his sling close to mommy's chest for the whole service :) Mommy and Daddy were so proud!

Noah loves to cuddle! He likes to lay on daddy's chest and fall asleep :) We know he will only be this small for a short time so we're enjoying every moment cuddling with him.

While I was preggo, I was lucky enough to have a 4-D ultrasound and I was able to see the little guy's face. I fell in love at first sight but I wondered how much this ultrasound picture would really look like him. As you can see, the 4-D ultrasound was a true picture of him. Noah has that cute little button nose and the round chin and sweet cheeks! If you are expecting and you just can't wait to see your baby's face you should definately try this...

Noah Riley Gambino is finally here. He was born on Monday January 12th at 8:51 PM. He weighs 7 lbs 13 oz's and is 20.6 inches long. Tons of hair! Momma and baby are doing great. We will post some pics as soon as I get a chance to upload them between frequent naps.

I know the countdown timer shows zero, but he would still be on time if he came today. If not, no big deal. We are scheduled to induce on Monday morning if he isn't here by then. So the end is in sight! Kristin is feeling great and still very active so that is a blessing. More updates to come.

Countdown to Baby

Just wanted to put a brief update out there for everyone. We have not yet had the baby. He is due this Thursday as most of you already know. We are so excited. Kristin is home resting and getting everything just right for him. We go to the doctor tomorrow to get an update. As soon as she has the baby we will certainly call and text family and friends with the news and the name!!! Anyway, keep Kristin and I in your prayers.

We are hoping to see this movie over the weekend. Finally, a movie that promotes a Biblical Worldview of marriage. We are hard pressed these days to find anything at the movies or on TV that promotes faithfulness, sacrafice and commitment in marriage. Kristin and I just finished reading a book called "Love that Lasts" - when marriage meets grace. Fireproof is a must see, so if you are reading our blog, go and check it out.

25th Week

Just wanted to do a quick update since I have been slacking. A combination of Football Season and Work has kept me from posting. Anyway, the baby is kicking now, and last night specifically, I saw Kristin's belly move when he kicked. Very facinating! I am so thankful that God is knitting the little guy together in there. What a miraculous act of grace. Well, we are almost in the 3rd trimester, so I guess I'd better post more belly pics. Oh, and we finally registered at Baby's R Us and Target.

Just wanted to throw a quick update up. We are going for another ultrasound this week and are super excited. This is the half way point for us. Any doubts will be put to rest on the sex of the baby, since we found out a little bit earlier than normal. Also, last night was amazing; Just as I was watching the Olympic games Kristin told me to feel her stomach and as I did the baby moved. It was so cool to feel the baby moving around. Anyway, we are so excited.

Hello all,

My computer's hard drive crashed so, all updates are put on hold for now. Kristin and I are planning on putting some pics of her little baby bump on next. We also have narrowed the names down a bit...Stay tuned...Next doctors appointment is the 6th.

Kristin and I just had an Ultrasound at Baptist Hospital today. Even though she is only 14 weeks along, they were able to see that it was a boy! We are so excited. There will be pictures of him posted tonight. He is healthy and pretty big so far.

PS. We did find out that Coke gives him the hiccups - funny storey; Kristin drank a Coke in the doctors office and he started bouncing all around on the screen. LOL
